About This Special Issue
Background: This special issue aims to highlight the rapidly evolving interface between microbial science and biotechnology. In recent years, advances in microbiology have increasingly relied on interdisciplinary approaches that integrate molecular biology, bioinformatics, nanotechnology, environmental science, and biomedical research. These integrations have opened new frontiers for understanding microbial systems and exploiting them for innovative application.
Significance: The significance of this special issue lies in its focus on fostering collaboration across disciplines to address global challenges, including antimicrobial resistance, emerging infectious diseases, environmental sustainability, and the development of novel biotechnological solutions. By bringing together diverse research perspectives, this issue seeks to accelerate scientific discovery and promote translational applications of microbial research.
Objectives: (1) Explore recent advances in microbiology and their biotechnological applications; (2) Encourage interdisciplinary research that bridges fundamental and applied sciences; (3) Highlight innovative methodologies and emerging technologies in microbial studies; (4) Provide a platform for researchers from diverse backgrounds to share insights and findings.
Through this special issue, we aim to advance interdisciplinary integration between microbiology and biotechnology, leading to innovative solutions for challenges such as antimicrobial resistance, enzyme research, and sustainable biotechnological applications.
